Elaia: Move Your World
Privacy Policy
1. What this policy covers
This policy describes the current private alpha of Elaia: Move Your World and the mailing-list website at playelaia.com, operated by Logan Daniels (“we” or “us”). The website signup and the game’s Apple Health integration are separate features, described separately below.
2. Apple Health and activity-based gameplay
Connecting Apple Health is optional. With your permission, the current app can read workouts, step counts, walking/running distance, cycling distance and swimming distance. Imported activity details can include activity type, dates, times, duration, available distance and workout/source identifiers.
The app uses this information to recognize your activities, update your in-game history and progress, and prevent duplicate activity rewards. The integration is read-only: Elaia does not create, edit or delete records in Apple Health. You can enter and explore the clearing without connecting Apple Health.
The current activity-handling feature processes and stores imported activity and its related game records locally on your device. It does not include an activity-upload service or game cloud synchronization. These statements concern activity handling, not the separate diagnostic and beta testing services described below.
3. Local storage, retention and your controls
The app keeps imported activity details, synchronization identifiers, connection information and activity-derived progress in its local Health store. These Health-derived files use iOS file protection and are excluded from device backup. Game preferences are also stored locally.
Disconnecting: the in-app Disconnect control stops future reads while keeping existing local memories. You can separately change or revoke the app’s permissions in Apple Health or device Settings.
Erasing: the app’s Privacy screen provides “Erase local Health-derived data…” with a confirmation step. This removes Elaia’s local imported Health history, related resources, recognition, import receipts, chapter state and connection information. It does not delete your original records in Apple Health.
Disconnecting is not the same as erasing. Source changes or deletions may update imported details while minimal previously earned-progress and duplicate-credit records remain. Use the explicit local erase control to remove that local Health-derived history. We cannot remotely erase an on-device store that is not uploaded to us.
4. Diagnostics, TestFlight and feedback
App and bundled software
Elaia uses Unreal Engine to run the game. In the current private-alpha implementation, imported Apple Health information and activity-derived progress are processed locally. The activity feature has no activity-upload service or game cloud synchronization.
The activity presenter does not log actual imported Health values. The current app configuration disables automatic crash-log attachment and implicit crash uploading. Unreal's engine analytics initialization is limited to editor runs rather than ordinary gameplay.
These statements describe the implemented activity handling and diagnostic configuration. Apple-operated TestFlight diagnostics, the website mailing list, hosting and bot protection, and information you choose to send in feedback or email are separate and are described in this policy.
Apple TestFlight
When you test Elaia through TestFlight, Apple automatically collects crash logs and usage information and shares them with the developer. Depending on the invitation and feedback method, information may include your name, email address, device/app details, comments and screenshots. Diagnostic collection while testing is not optional.
We use beta testing information to investigate problems and improve the app; we do not share that TestFlight information with third parties. Apple’s handling is described in TestFlight & Privacy .
Feedback and screenshots can contain activity or other personal details you choose to include. Please avoid sending sensitive records that are not needed to explain the issue. We retain copies we receive only for as long as needed to address feedback and improve the app, unless a longer period is legally required. Contact us about access or deletion of copies we control; Apple controls retention of its own records.
5. Website mailing list
When you submit the mailing-list form, the website stores your email address, subscription status, signup source and signup time in the waitlist database. The email address is trimmed and normalized to lowercase. These details are used to manage your subscription and send occasional Elaia updates. The signup form does not request Apple Health data.
We retain the subscription record while you remain subscribed and the mailing list is operated. You can request removal or deletion by emailing playelaia@gmail.com from the subscribed address. The website currently has no self-service unsubscribe page; requests are handled through this contact. We may retain a minimal record of an opt-out or request where needed to honor it or meet legal obligations.
6. Website hosting and bot protection
The website uses Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare Turnstile. During signup verification, the Worker sends a verification token and, when available, the visitor’s IP address to Cloudflare. Turnstile also processes technical signals such as browser headers and connection characteristics to detect bots and improve its protection.
The signup database insert stores the fields listed above, not a separate IP-address field. This does not mean that hosting or security services process no technical data. The Worker logs signup failures for troubleshooting; hosting and security records may also contain technical request information.
Cloudflare describes its processing and security-related cookies in its Privacy Policy and Turnstile Privacy Addendum . Contact us about privacy requests relating to operation of this website.
7. Contact and privacy requests
For privacy questions, mailing-list removal, or requests to access, correct or delete information we hold, contact playelaia@gmail.com. Please identify the feature concerned without sending unnecessary sensitive data. We may need to verify that a request relates to your information before acting on it.
When you contact us, we receive the contact details, message and any attachments you provide. We use them to respond and manage your request, and retain them only as needed for those purposes or applicable legal obligations. Your rights and any exceptions depend on applicable law.
8. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the app or website’s data practices change and revise the date above. Additional integrations or services will be described before they are introduced, with additional consent where required.
